Malt Spirit Distillation Equipment
A distillation package for fermented malt wash, developed around the desired spirit and operating method. ATTOMO supplies the agreed still, condensation, receiver and associated equipment scope.

Process and equipment approach
Distillation separates and concentrates alcohol and other volatile components from fermented malt wash. Still configuration and operation influence the spirit profile. This equipment package must be distinguished from malt preparation, mashing, fermentation, maturation and bottling.
Applications and product requirements
This offering focuses on the malt-spirit distillation section supplied with prepared fermented wash. It complements the wider malt-distillery page covering malt preparation and fermentation. The stillhouse enquiry should describe the desired spirit, wash characteristics and operating schedule.
Equipment and operating approach
The equipment review considers wash stills or other selected distillation equipment, subsequent distillation where required, condensers and segregated receivers. Vapour-path geometry, heating duty, condensation and fraction handling influence operation. Product character depends on feed and operating practice as well as equipment, so sensory results cannot be guaranteed by shape alone.

Define the right package.
The quotation defines the included equipment, services and battery limits.
- Stills or specified distillation equipment
- Condensers and product receivers
- Heating, cooling and transfer interfaces
- Instrumentation and controls as agreed
Materials and configuration
Copper and stainless-steel components, heating coils or jackets, external heating arrangements and cleanable connections are reviewed by duty. Vessel gross volume, working charge and batch output are different quantities. Instrumentation, spirit receivers, piping, installation and commissioning assistance must have defined scope boundaries.
Utilities and operation
Wash strength, solids, foaming, cycle time, steam or other heating supply, and cooling-water temperature determine the package. Confirm cleaning, drainage and vent-handling requirements. Maturation, blending and bottling remain distinct from the stillhouse supply unless specifically included.
Information for your enquiry.
Share the information you already have. Early-stage enquiries are welcome.
- Wash composition and batch or feed rate
- Required spirit profile and product specification
- Heating and cooling conditions
- Package boundaries and upstream interfaces
Frequently asked questions
Does the distillation package include a complete malt distillery?
Only where the contract expressly includes the additional stages. The proposal should distinguish the distillation package from the wider plant.
Are rum and brandy malt spirits?
No. The raw materials and product requirements differ. A malt-spirit enquiry should identify its own feed and intended product.
What is needed to integrate a stillhouse with an existing malt distillery?
Provide wash data, existing equipment drawings, available utilities, space and connection details, and the required spirit output. Define the interfaces with fermentation, receivers, storage and controls.
Is charge volume the same as daily production?
No. Wash strength, working fill, cycle time, number of batches and selected fractions determine the spirit output.
Can the still geometry be customised?
Geometry can be reviewed against the process objective, heating, cleaning and mechanical requirements. Provide drawings or the product and operating basis for assessment.
